Matthew Groves here. We're in our first season of owning 2 hives here in Southeastern Missouri.

Hive #1 was a lang hive I took possession of last (2010) October. It made it through the winter fine, and I adapted it down in to warré boxes (for the most part).

Hive #2 is a package of russians that we hived in March/April of 2011.

We'll see how things progress.

Welcome Matthew,

I lived in Taylor Missouri for a few years. I miss it sometimes. Sounds like you are off and running. Your path is similer to my own.

I bought a bunch of traditional lang equipment and bees from my best friend and I plan to integrate my home made Warré Hives as I go on. Hopefully I can do it just by catching swarms.

Best of luck,
Jon
